American Corners Presentation: “Automatic Court Case Management System and its Contribution to More Efficient Justice”
The USAID Judicial Reform Implementation Project (JRIP) was the first to present its activities in a series of USAID presentations scheduled at the four American Corners in Macedonia.
On June 9th, at the American Corner Skopje, Jelena Janevska, JRIP Communications Coordinator, explained briefly how this project has helped the judiciary since its beginning in 2007. As part of its effort to promote the rule of law and human rights in Macedonia, JRIP implemented a Court Modernization Project, which included development of the Automated Case Management and Information System (ACCMIS) embedded and utilized in the courts.
Ljupco Tagasovski, JRIP Senior ICT Manager, provided details on the ACCMIS and its contribution to more efficient justice. He explained the core components and functions of ACCMIS and how the courts benefit from this software, and also demonstrated how the software actually works.
JRIP Project Director Sam Juncker joined the group at the Corner, and helped answer some of the questions from the audience about the challenges faced and the current feedback from the courts already using the ACCMIS.
