USAID's e-BIZ Project

The e-BIZ Project's mission is to stimulate employment in Macedonia by helping SMEs adopt high-impact ICT applications that support their competitiveness and growth. The e-BIZ Project employs a new and powerful approach that addresses both demand and supply sides of SME adoption of ICT.

The e-BIZ Project provides an innovative model for helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) use information and communication technology (ICT) to strengthen their businesses. It partners with Macedonian entrepreneurs to offer “high impact “ICT solutions that significantly improve SMEs' competitiveness.

To date, 6 e-BIZ Centers have been created offering the following services:


CAD/CAM based services:         

Apparel Industry: New Trend Apparel Technology e-BIZ Center offers Computer Aided Design services for Pattern Design, Digitizing, Grading and Pattern Making and Computer Aided Manufacturing services for Tension-Free Spreading and Automated Cutting to apparel manufacturing companies.

Footwear Industry: ModEur Shoe Technology e-BIZ Center offers Computer Aided Design services for Pattern Design and Pattern Making, Digitizing and Grading and Computer Aided Manufacturing services for Automated Cutting to shoe manufacturing companies.

Machine tool Companies: CIRKO MES e-BIZ Center provides tool design, production design, NC Programming, 3D Modeling, training services and technical support to number of industries in Macedonia. 


E-Commerce services:  

Tourism Industry: ExploringMacedonia.com e-BIZ National Tourism Portal is an e-commerce Portal that promotes Macedonian tourism industry and enables Macedonian tourism service providers to sell their services globally via Internet.

Apparel and Footwear industry: FashionMK.com e-BIZ Portal is an e-Commerce Portal that is providing services to Macedonian apparel and footwear companies that will help them to promote globally and to expand their business opportunities via Internet.


Management Training services:  

SEEU Center: SEEU e-BIZ Centers offers advanced classroom training programs, Video Conference based training, Web based training, consulting, business conferences and video conferences services to the companies from the wider area of Tetovo and Gostivar to help the broadening of the managerial horizon of local business leaders.

e-BIZ is implemented under the dot-ORG Cooperative Agreement within the framework of the USAID Digital Opportunity through Technology and Communication Alliance (DOT-COM). Education Development Center (EDC) is responsible for field implementation of the e-BIZ Project, through a subcontract from the Academy for Educational Development (AED), the Leader organization for dot-ORG. Throughout the project, EDC works closely with Geekcorps, a dot-ORG partner.
